Cure for the Common Cold

Despite all the advances in modern medicine, this simple illness continues to drive millions of people crazy every year. So, why has someone not found a cure for the common cold yet? People want to know, because this pest they deal with at least twice a year must go!

It is the 21st Century. Why has Someone Not Found a Cure for the Common Cold?

Common cold is hard to pinpoint

The common cold is not just one single virus. It is a group of viruses that cause similar symptoms. This makes it difficult to develop a single cure that can destroy all variations of the cold.

To make matters worse, viruses are constantly changing, making it even more challenging to create a cure that would be effective for a long period of time.

Common cold is a mild illness

This is another reason there is no cure for the common cold.

The cold causes discomfort and inconvenience, but it is not life-threatening. This means that there is not as much funding and research being directed towards finding a cure for the common cold as there is for more serious diseases.

In other words, scientists figure, since it won't kill you, why waste time trying to find a cure?

This does not necessarily mean they don't care, because I believe they do. But why waste time with something that's just a nuisance, when this valuable time can be spent on more serious diseases?

Over-the-counter remedies

The symptoms of a cold are usually manageable with over-the-counter medications and home remedies. This makes people less likely to seek medical help or take part in clinical trials for a possible cure. People stay away from the doctor and deal with it at home because they figure, eventually it will go away.

Without a significant number of cases, it is difficult to conduct proper studies and gather enough data to develop an effective treatment that will cure it.

The SurfSideSafe Cold Remedy

Unfortunately, we don't have a cure for the common cold, but we have something that will make you feel better.

A few months ago, we showed our visitors how to make a healthy hot toddy.

Before you go to bed, make a hot toddy. Drink it, and get under the covers immediately.

Getting under the covers is the key. This helps you to sweat it out. The next morning, you will still have the cold, but you will feel much better. Feeling better is what's important, because the cold will eventually run its course.

This works every time. But it is important that you know this is not medical or professional advice. If you are concerned about your illness, contact a qualified doctor, physician or other professional.

The common cold is contagious

People can catch it many times during their lives. This makes it difficult to determine if someone has been cured of the cold or if they have simply caught a different strain of the virus.

Without an accurate way to measure the effectiveness of a possible cure, researchers cannot move forward with its development.

Self-limiting illness

This means that it usually resolves itself within a week or two without any intervention.

This makes it challenging to test the effectiveness of a possible cure, as it may be difficult to determine if the cure actually worked or if the illness just ran its course.

Too many factors to consider

Finding a cure for the common cold is not just about developing a medication or treatment. It also involves understanding the complex mechanisms of the immune system and how it responds to different viruses.

The common cold is just one of many illnesses that scientists are trying to find a cure for, and it takes time, resources, and a lot of trial and error to make any significant progress.

Conclusion

The lack of a cure for the common cold in the 21st century is not about lack of effort. The fact is, no one has a clue on how to find a cure. However, with the continued advancements in medicine, and with a little luck, there is hope that one day, a cure for the common cold will be found. Until then, all we can do is just deal with this pest for at least two weeks each year.

Finally, it is my opinion that a cure has not been found because no one knows how to find it. Until someone finds out how to find it, chicken soup and kleenex Tissues will continue to be hot items!
