Instead of copying the big tech playbook, SurfSideSafe was built on a simple question: “Does this work?” That mindset changed everything — and made SurfSideSafe one of a kind.

When I started building SurfSideSafe, I never studied how other social media platforms did things.

I never looked at Facebook’s code, or Twitter’s design. I never followed anyone’s blueprint. I just used a little common sense and asked myself one simple question:

❓ “Does this work?”

That question became the foundation of SurfSideSafe.

I didn’t want to repeat what others were doing.

I wanted to create something better — something that actually made sense, both technically and emotionally.

If it worked, I kept it.

If it didn’t, I changed it.

It really was that simple.

During the entire process, the only Social Media Website I loaded was:

My Own: SurfSideSafe!

That was my bread and butter, and the only platform that interested me.

Maybe that’s why SurfSideSafe feels so different today. It wasn’t built from formulas or trends. It was built from instinct, experience, and a genuine desire to help people feel safe, creative, and connected online.

And if there’s one thing I’ve learned through this journey, it’s this:
