I was looking through an old recipe box today and found a handwritten recipe tucked between two cards.

The handwriting was so familiar that I sat there looking at it for a while.

Funny thing is, I wasn't thinking about the food. I was remembering the person who wrote it.

Some things are worth keeping, even if you never make the recipe. 🫀

I was thinking about something today. When I was younger, I couldn't wait to grow up and do whatever I wanted.

Well, here I am, all grown up, and sometimes the most exciting thing I do all day is discover I don't have to go anywhere tomorrow. 😂

Anybody else find that funny?

The older I get, the more I realize that some of the best lessons I've learned came from things I would never want to go through again. At the time, I certainly didn't think, “Well, this is going to make me wiser.”

In 1955, a gallon of gas cost 29 cents. That meant, 5 bucks filled your tank, and left enough change for a Coke and a candy bar. And you didn't pump it yourself. A young man cleaned your windshield and checked your oil, while calling you "Sir" or "Ma'am".

Yesterday, I felt like making some homemade English Muffins. I guess I made too many. But I don't mind. I'll freeze some of them if I have to. They definitely won't go to waste. #EnglishMuffins

Eastern style hot dog buns. All-in-one. I wonder if I can make these. It doesn't look too hard.
