Remember when we had dozens of telephone numbers memorized? Or when you took pictures and had to wait a whole week to find out whether they turned out? Or calling a friend on the family telephone and having to talk to their mother or father before you could talk to THEM? 😂
We didn't need GPS to get everywhere, either. Somehow, we just knew how to get where we were going!
What's something you used to do all the time that your smartphone has practically eliminated?
Reply by BillieMax Clements About 12 day(s) ago After I got my first smartphone, I stopped writing things down. Two items that have become obsolete to me are a pen and paper. About a month ago, I had to write something with a pen and paper, and it felt so awkward.
Reply by Sammy Cannon About 12 day(s) ago When I was a kid, a bunch of us used to hang out. We were crazy as hell. What we did sometimes was, look up someone's name and address in the phone book, call them, and say, "Hello, this is Pizza Hut. Is the 'so and so' at 'so and so'?" When the person said 'yes', we'd say, "We'd like to know when you're coming to pick up these 10 pizzas you ordered." Can't do that any more. All phones have caller id, but it sure was fun?
Reply by Deanna Owens About 12 day(s) ago Sammy, shame on you, LOL 😂😆🤣
Reply by Mae Eisner About 12 day(s) ago I like my smartphone, but I'm not sure it has made everything better. People no longer want to talk to me, They'd rather text me. Isn't that going backwards?
Reply by SueAnn Lindley About 12 day(s) ago Does anyone remember the 'iPod' from Apple? For about 6 years it was cutting edge. Then Apple released the first iPhone, and made their own product obsolete.
Reply by Jack Robbins About 12 day(s) ago I remember when I knew every inportant telephone number for memory. And now, I can't even remember my own telephone number. And now that I look back, I can't believe I was able to remember all those numbers.
I went grocery shopping with a list of six things. Came home with twelve things, spent twice what I intended, and forgot two things on the list. Somebody explain to me how that happens. 😂🛒I went grocery shopping with a list of six things. Came home with twelve things, spent twice what I intended, and forgot two things on the list. Reply by Margie Ola About 20 day(s) ago Happens to me all the time. I see something, and think, "I didn't put that on my list, but I can use this."
Reply by Charlie Mundi About 20 day(s) ago I keep my shopping list in the 'Notes' app, on my iPhone. Sometimes, as I get what I need, I do to the app and remove it. But nothing is better than the old fashion list, written out on paper.
Reply by BillieMax Clements About 20 day(s) ago Here'a a simple solution: Print out the list from the 'Notes' app, and use that as your paper list. However, with a lot of people going paperless, printers are almost obsolete. 📠
I've never been somebody who gets comfortable with people right away.
I usually hang back a little, listen, and get a feel for somebody first.
But I've learned something over the years. You don't have to impress me. You don't have to agree with me about everything either.
Just be straight with me.

Reply by Mae Eisner About 26 day(s) ago Thank you for sharing this Deanna. You would be a loyal friend to have.
Reply by Deanna Owens About 26 day(s) ago Thanks a lot for those kind words Mae. This really means a lot to me.
Reply by Charlie Mundi About 26 day(s) ago Deanna, when I read this, it almost brought tears to my eyes. My wife, Karen, was the same way. That was one of the many things I loved about her.
Reply by Deanna Owens About 26 day(s) ago Oh Charlie, thank you for sharing this. She's very pretty.

Reply by Holly Anders About 2 year(s) ago I wish someone would post a video showing hot to do this with an omelette.
Reply by Mandy DiAngelo About 2 year(s) ago No way! I've never been able to get this right.
Reply by Mae Eisner About 2 year(s) ago If you think it's hard to do this with stainless steel, try it with a cast iron skillet.
Reply by Jack Robbins About 2 year(s) ago Add your oil, or butter in the skillet, and turn down the heat before adding the eggs.
Reply by MaryKate Barton About 2 year(s) ago This is something you have to get used to. The more you do it, the better you get. Before long, you'll be doing this like a master chef.
Reply by Curt Chance About 2 year(s) ago Cook some bacon or sausage in there with the egg, and maybe some hash browns.
Reply by Margie Ola About 2 year(s) ago Or, you can add some Jalapeno peppers or Banana peppers to really spice it up.

Oh, this picture is so beautiful. I was trying to figure out what time of the year this might be. From the looks of it, and with the deer in the picture, I'd say this is in the fall, and close to the #HolidaySeason. 🧡💙Oh, this picture is so beautiful. Lucky Charms cake. Most kids would love this, because they like to separate the charms so much. #LuckyCharmsLucky Charms cake. Most kids would love this, because they like to separate the charms so much. #LuckyCharms
