I lost my mother 8 years ago. 15 years ago, I lost my wife to cancer. After my wife passed, I thought the best thing to do was sell the house we lived in and move in with my mother. My mother agreed. It was the best thing I've ever done. My mother was 84 when she passed. She had health problems, but not really life threatening. However, she was a cancer survivor. Also, my sister lived across the road. She and I used to argue about which one of us was going to do things for her, such as, take her to the doctor. We both were champing at the bit to do everything for her. But my sister always won, because she would say something like, "You don't know her medical situation like I do. The doctor might talk about technical things." Doing things for my mother was a pleasure. My sister and I were both determined that she was going to live on a velvet pillow. Whenever I did something for her, she would say, in a funny way, "I could have done that!", or, "You do too much for me!" I would always respond by saying things like, "But that's why I'm here!" or, "Why should you do it when I'm here to do it for you?" Other times, I would say to her, "Too bad! You brought this on yourself. That's what you get for being such a good mother." She loved every minute of it, and so did I. I miss her so much. If your mother or father are still here, be good to them. Go out of your way to see them as often as you can. When they leave this earth, you will be hurt, but you will have no regrets. Let me tell you, the grief is worth the good memories you have. That's a wonderful feeling. And, I feel good that I can say this about my mother, and my wife. #family#familymatters#familyisimportant

Reply by Jack Robbins About 3 day(s) ago I agree with you Charlie. Losing someone you love is bad, but the precious memories are wonderful. On the other hand, losing someone who treated you bad is worse, because you wish they were still here for about 5 minutes so you could tell them what a jerk they were.

Reply by Curt Chance About 10 day(s) ago I've seen some things on SurfSideSafe that I've never seen on social media before. The posts and sharing are really no different, but it's mostly the entire atmosphere. I get the feeling I've entered a "happy place". Like in most platforms, there are posts about what is going on in the world. But here, they seem to be in good taste.
Reply by Roger Duncan About 10 day(s) ago I haven't been much of a social media enthusiast during the last several years, because I've never felt safe on any platform. I feel safer here than I've ever felt on social media. I love the restore system, and this makes a lot of users feel safe, knowing their account is protected. Read more ➢
