The Moment Big Tech Lost My Trust

2020 broke something in all of us.

For me, it broke my trust in social media — and in the idea that these platforms were ever meant to protect or serve their users.

And it all came down to hatred for one man — someone who fought against everything I despised. That hatred didn’t just hurt people... it cost lives.

In a single year, everything changed. A pandemic shut down the world. Cities burned. Speech was censored. And platforms that were supposed to connect us, instead, divided us more than ever.

What I saw in 2020 shook me to the core. It felt like power players — from Silicon Valley to D.C. — were working in lockstep. People were de-platformed overnight. Platforms disappeared like they never existed. And nobody said a word, because the people doing it... had the power to make it happen, and did it because they could.

But the thing that hit me hardest wasn’t the chaos.

It was seeing how easily people were silenced — and how fast the giants in tech caved, cracked, or cowered.

Even Tim Cook — someone I’ve always admired, and still do — seemed to go along with the silencing. That’s when I knew: This wasn’t about politics anymore. It was about control.

And then it got worse.

💥 THE TURNING POINT

If they can silence one man, they can silence all of us.

When Parler was shut down — not by users, but by Big Tech itself — I realized one chilling truth:

If they can silence them, they can silence anyone.

Amazon Web Services pulled the plug on Parler. Facebook and Twitter went full censorship mode. The rules changed. The game changed. And the people had no say.

That was the day I decided: Never again!

I bought my own servers. I didn’t lease them. I own them. I configured them, secured them, and made sure that no one — no billionaire, no politician, no outsourcer — not CNN, MSNBC, or any other media — can ever pull the plug on us.

Other platforms depend on Big Tech.

We don’t.
