Reply by Jack Robbins About 27 day(s) ago I like your choices. You almost nailed it. I don't want to take anything away from Roberto Duran, because he was a great fighter. But I would have put Rocky Marciano there instead. The man was a heavy weight, and never lost a fight. I don't think this will ever be accomplished again.
Reply by Bubba Fisher About 27 day(s) ago I'm glad you put Sugar Ray Robinson on the mountain. I've heard stories about him, mostly, that he was probably the greatest fighter ever, pound for pound.
Reply by Kenneth Cole About 27 day(s) ago I'm glad you included Joe Louis. I've read stories about him, and watched videos. He was no only a great fighter. He was a gentleman.
Reply by Charlie Mundi About 27 day(s) ago You are so right, Ken. ESPN has a series of videos entitled, "Sports Century", highllighting the 50 greatest athletes of the 20th century. Each has an hour long documentary on the particular athlete. Joe Louis was No. 11. I've watched this many times, and every time I watched it, I had tears in my eyes. He was a great man, in every way.
Reply by Curt Chance About 27 day(s) ago I agree with Jack. Roberto Duran was a great fighter, and a great choice, but Rocky was a better choice. Also, Roger almost nailed it. I can't think of any other fighter who should be on this mountain.
Reply by Kenneth Cole About 2 month(s) ago I agree. There will never be another Lombardi.
Reply by Jack Robbins About 2 month(s) ago I wasn't born when he was coaching, but I've seen him on YouTube and have learned a lot about him. Great man.
George Foreman: “I was out of boxing for 10 years, and the only picture that I saved was Muhammad Ali knocking me down. There I was going down from that punch, I kept that and looked at it all the time, mainly because I realised what a big moment it was for sports and for boxing, and it kept me humbled. I never forgot that, and it's made me a far better person than if it had been me knocking him down.”George Foreman: “I was out of boxing for 10 years, and the only picture that I saved was Muhammad Ali knocking me down. Reply by Jack Robbins About 2 month(s) ago Now that you've mentioned it, it seems as if George changed after that fight. What I barely remember was, the next time I saw him on TV after that fight, he had joined the Church and become a minister. #GeorgeForeman
Reply by Bubba Fisher About 2 month(s) ago George was a good fighter, with a powerful punch. I wouldn't say he was necessarily a great fighter. He was no match for Ali. Also, if he had fought Rocky Marciano in his prime, he wouldn't have been a match for Rocky. George didn't have the stamina a great fighter has. But George was a great guy. He was very influential, and did a lot for boxing. He will be missed.
Reply by Roger Duncan About 2 month(s) ago Bubba, I hope what I'm about to say doesn't upset you. If Ali had fought Rocky in their primes, he would have hurt him, bloodied him, humiliated him, and done everything to him except one thing - Beat him. Rocky was tough, and he didn't know how to lose. Rocky was the greatest fighter, but Ali was THE GREATEST, PERIOD.
Claudia Wells and Michael J. Fox, then and now. Back to the Future - 1, 2 and 3. I loved those movies. They are the most perfect movies ever made. If you watched them, and watched them close, did you notice the many small details that made this series a classic? #BacktotheFutureClaudia Wells and Michael J. Fox, then and now. Reply by Margie Ola About 2 month(s) ago I did notice that. For example, the name of the mall, were Marty traveled in time for the first time, was "Twin Pines Mall". When he arrived in 1955, he knocked over one of the pine trees. When he returned to 1986, the name of the mall was changed to "Lone Pine Mall".
Reply by BillieMax Clements About 2 month(s) ago Here's another. At the end of Back to the Future 3, Marty almost crashed into a Rolls-Royce, and it was mentioned in Back to the Future 2 that he had crashed, causing him to be unable to play the guitar again. In the third movie, he had been informed of what might happened, and wisely prevented it.
Steve McQueen and his wife, Neile Adams in 1963. They were in one of the "Alfred Hitchcock Presents" episodes together, Man from the South in 1960. In this episode, Steve McQueen almost got his fingers chopped off. McQueen was also in the episode, Human Interest Story in 1959. Also in this episode was Clint Eastwood, but he was uncredited. Neile is still alive and well at the age of 92. #SteveMcQueen#NeileAdams#AlfredHitchcock#ClintEastwoodSteve McQueen and his wife, Neile Adams in 1963.
