Roger Duncan | About 2 day(s) ago Lately, it seems like there's been a Mount Rushmore craze. So here is the Mount Rushmore for boxers:
From Left to Right,
Muhammad Ali, Sugar Ray Robinson, Joe Louis, Roberto Duran

Reply by Curt Chance About 2 day(s) ago I agree with Jack. Roberto Duran was a great fighter, and a great choice, but Rocky was a better choice. Also, Roger almost nailed it. I can't think of any other fighter who should be on this mountain.
Reply by Kenneth Cole About 2 day(s) ago I'm glad you included Joe Louis. I've read stories about him, and watched videos. He was no only a great fighter. He was a gentleman.
Reply by Charlie Mundi About 2 day(s) ago You are so right, Ken. ESPN has a series of videos entitled, "Sports Century", highllighting the 50 greatest athletes of the 20th century. Each has an hour long documentary on the particular athlete. Joe Louis was No. 11. I've watched this many times, and every time I watched it, I had tears in my eyes. He was a great man, in every way.
Reply by Bubba Fisher About 2 day(s) ago I'm glad you put Sugar Ray Robinson on the mountain. I've heard stories about him, mostly, that he was probably the greatest fighter ever, pound for pound.
Reply by Jack Robbins About 2 day(s) ago I like your choices. You almost nailed it. I don't want to take anything away from Roberto Duran, because he was a great fighter. But I would have put Rocky Marciano there instead. The man was a heavy weight, and never lost a fight. I don't think this will ever be accomplished again.
