People don't visit each other any more because they have so many things to do, and don't have the time. A long time ago, there was no internet, video streaming, cable tv, and the other things that keep people busy today. People had more time for visiting, or just relaxing. Some of my most pleasant evenings were spent just sitting on the front porth, and watching cars go by.
